Maowwige.

My girlfriend, now fiance, are legally binding our lives together in a couple of weeks.

Her friends equate our initial getting together as her finding a perfectly good couch discarded on the side of the road. I didn't match the decor of my previous residence, but I fit right in here. I won't speak for her, but I'm healthier and happier than Ive ever been at any point in my life. She understands me in ways I don't even understand myself at times. You find a gal like that, you don't let'em go. First of all, she knows too much and is a liability at this point, but mostly, we make a really good team.

We were planning on just going to the courthouse and that was that, but then her work people wanted to give her a party. Also my friends don't get together enough so we're doing a dinner with a few of them on a different night. I think our families are each doing something too. So we have at least four small get togethers in the next month or so.

We never really thought about registering anywhere as we've been in the same apt for almost three years and aren't planning to go anywhere. Still, folks have been asking what to get us, so went to Target and made a registry of items we could use and then added few fun and silly things. Then we came home and went on Amazon and made a list of mostly fun things. There's a few items on there we could really use though.

Seeing as how I have a lot more friends and fans (the best kind of friends) out there on the web, I figured I'd post links to those registries if anyone was inclined to send us a gift.

TARGET Registry

AMAZON Registry

I don't expect any of you to actually get us anything, but you all have been very encouraging and supportive in the past. The most I'll ever ask is that continue that encouragement and support.

That said, since Im a cartoonist, you know you'll get an awesome hand made thank you card. ;)

Solomon Kane Playmobile

Been almost two weeks since I posted anything. Been super busy working on books. I figure I ought to post something creative.

Here's a series of pics of a Solomon Kane Playmobile figure I built out of cowboy, a knight, and a chimney sweep. The Viking was straight outta the box.

John

Micheal Hudson of Sequential Pulp Comics just posted this on the Facebook group:

"The next bit of good news is that the Literary Agent for Manly Wade Wellman states we have a deal on the rights to SILVER JOHN. Paper is not in hand but should be forthcoming shortly. I am beside myself to see what our wonder writing duo of Jim and Becky Beard do with Wellman's prose. And just how guitar playing, pencil, ink and color maestro, Thomas Boatwright will do with this super cool character."

So if you haven't guessed in addition to the Halloween Legion, I'll be drawing the Silver John comic adaptation for Sequential Pulp and Dark Horse.

Just drew five more pages of a comic I dont like. Needed a fun break so I colored a Silver John sketch. About 20 minutes of work.

One Other Colored

A very cool monster from a Silver John story. One Other named so because he's missing one other arm and one other leg.

More Joe Adventure team!

Just did two more commissions of the GI Joe Adventure Team from the 70's. This is my favorite of those, and one of my all time favorite commissions!

Lawd!

Well Im getting close to FINALLY working on that Silver John comic adaptation Ive always wanted to do. I had an idea a couple of months ago, then out of no where, that plan idea took on a completely new form. So much that I cant even talk about it in detail yet!

Here's a few sketches I did the other night on the subject.

Lebowski 2011

The poster image for The Mixed Tape Film Series 2011 presentation of The Big Lebowski.

Unused Lebowski image

Once again Im working on the posters for the Mixed Tape Film Series For the fourth year we kick it off with The Big Lebowski. I worked in the poster over the weekend and ended up with an image we ultimately didn't use, but I thought turned out really well. I added the word balloon just for fun.

Zeke commission

I like the layout of this one. Also a pretty good Schofield for not looking at any horse reference like I should have.
